Bollywood’s number one singer since past few years has revealed that he may retire next year. Arijit Singh sounds insecure about his showbiz because of the number of fresh voices replacing the old ones in every few years.
Arijit Singh Is Insecure About His Career
“I don’t think I have a long way to go. This might be my last year,” says the 29-year-old, alluding to the short shelf life of Bollywood artistes. “Normally, fresh voices replace (current favourites) every five to seven years in Bollywood.”
Before Arijit could be prodded further, he said that he might be able to change this. If he works really hard on specific genres then there may be chances of him to stay long.
“If I work really hard on specific genres, I might be able to stay longer. That way, I can emerge as the only singer who can croon songs of those genres. Maybe that’s how I will survive.”

Past Experiences Make Him Feel So
However, Arijit Singh has honed these skills in his previous years. Despite being a strong contender in the reality show ‘Fame Gurukul’ 2005, his fame was preceded by numerous obstacles. He started as a playback singer in the industry.
Before he bagged his first song ‘Phir Mohabbat’ from Murder 2, Arijit assisted Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Pritam for 6 years. His retirement decision must have come out of these experiences.
Arijit has paved his own path for success. He is one of the most sought singers in the industry today. The singer will be a part of the multi genre film festival Enchanted Valley Carnival which will be held on 17 and 18 December.
Despite being an idol for all the aspiring singers, Arijit finds a long way for him. He wants to be more informed about the upcoming advanced music technologies.
One of the Bollywood’s most celebrated singer keeps distance from the media.
“I enjoy a quiet life, without much interruption. Over the past three years, I have seen my fan base grow, and I think it’s essential for them to know that I’ve always been someone who refrains from interactions because I enjoy a silent life. With the growth of social media, this, too, becomes difficult.”
