Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a very bold step to restraint the flow of black money in Indian economy. The strategic move ceased all Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes to be the legal tenders since November 9, 2016 midnight. Following this, income tax raids are being conducted at random to keep a check on the system. Even Baahubali makers got caught in their hold.
Tax Raid At Baahubali Producers
The efforts to unearth black money are gaining momentum across the country. Income tax raids were randomly conducted at the homes and offices of Tollywood producers. Baahubali 2 makers were one of these who faced government scrutiny and it came as a big shock. The film was biggest blockbuster in Telugu cinema last year.
The makers recently sold Baahubali 2 to distributors. They have been rumoured to take a large sum of money in advance from them. All this seems to be strategically planned beforehand.
The reports say that searches are currently being conducted in offices located in Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hill in Hyderabad.

Offices And Houses Both Were Targeted
Producers Shobhu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni had simultaneous raids in their homes and offices. Producer-director, Tammareddy Bharadwaja also became a part of this scrutiny.
According to NDTV reports, Rs. 60 crore money was found at the offices of Baahubali producers in denominations of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000.
A source from the IT department said,
“The search is part of the routine procedure the Income Tax department follows from time to time. These kinds of searches are mostly confined to offices and places belonging to people connected to the target.”
Baahubali: The Beginning released across more than 4000 theatres in various languages. It grossed more than Rs. 600 crores worldwide. The film was also the biggest Hindi dub of all time.
