Filmmaker Farah Khan gave her successful directorial debut with the immensely successful Main Hoon Na. After her previous blockbuster, the director is now under preparation for the film’s sequel. She has begun with the script writing of Main Hoon Na 2.
Main Hoon Na 2 Under Preparations
The choreographer turned director Farah Khan revealed the news on Spices and Secrets, Zarine Khan’s chat show. She came on the show with Jackie Shroff and announced Main Hoon Na 2 in the pre-production stage. Zarine Khan’s son Zayed Khan also played a prominent role in the film.
Being the first step of her career as a director, the film holds great emotional value in her life. She even got emotional on the film’s 10th anniversary and tweeted nostalgic messages along with pictures and videos from the film. Shah Rukh Khan in response to her tweets asked Farah to plan its sequel.
Two years later, tables turned. Shahrukh got emotional on its 12th anniversary. He personally gave his regards to the cast and crew on Twitter.

The tweets brought excitement among its fans. They were apprehensive of the conversation that was brushed aside in humor. Farah Khan never wants to create a franchisee for the sake of creation or extension. A sequel in order to stand up to or even than the prequel shall own a good story. Only then is the sense of its making fulfilled.
In an article to Topyaps, Farah said
“Rarely has a sequel beaten the popularity of the original, even in Hollywood. The only thing the sequel always makes is more money. Maybe Dhoom 2 (2006) was better (story-wise) than the original Dhoom (2004). But I feel, usually, franchises simply cash in on the success of the original. Main Hoon Na had no loose ends that could be used to make a sequel.”
Clearly the franchise is born since Farah’s creative bug is at work again.
